Do you love yourself?
Personally, I think it’s an absurd question, but very valid nonetheless. I didn’t always love myself, I grew into love with myself. I embraced myself- all of who I am, not selected parts that I only portrayed for people to see. You see we all have two lives; the life we present to others, and our true life, the life within. I believe we can’t fully love ourselves until there is no difference between the two. Love always starts within, it is impossible to be acquired from the outside, true love that is.
So today when someone asks me this question I answer with no hesitation. Of course I love myself, no explanation, no reasoning. Why should I need a reason to love myself? I surround myself with only people that can accept all of me, and if they can’t I move away gracefully. Life is short, it may seem long but time passes before you know it. Love yourself, celebrate who you are. When you can truly celebrate that you can love others without wanting or needing to change them. You don’t need people to behave a certain way for you to be happy, if you truly love the simple fact of who they are should always be more than enough. And if it’s not it’s probably time to look within. You can’t bring into the outside world what you do not have to offer inside your inner world.
– So, the next time someone asks you who do you love the most in this world, I hope you never hesitate to say yourself. Only From this place you can truly love others.
