About being home
There are plenty of uncertainties out there right now;
When can I meet my friends again?
What is the economy going to look like?
When can I hug my grandma?
Am I always going to need to wear a mask in the supermarket?
But while – outside – the questions keep piling up, we are home.
I don’t know about you, but I hadn’t been home in a long time. I mean truly at
home. Waking up slowly. Cooking my lunch. Watching my steps as I walk through
the living room. Looking outside the window and noticing the landscape. Talking to
the people with whom I share all this familiarity.
There is something about being home that is a constant. A feeling that – inside – here,
nothing will change and you are still the same as years ago. Your essence is here.
You are here. Present.
So, while the world seems to be falling apart around us, we have found our home.
Inside walls – and inside ourselves.
We don’t ever need to leave home. This home. Inside.
