A battle we must fight
The garden we all bide upon is now unforgiving
Unkindly we have been adrift from the bigger course in life
Some did lose people, some livelihood and some life
At times the light is far too away at the end of the tunnel.
As we sojourn the isles of life’s journey with challenges nerve-racking already
The devil sure did make his move wise
It’s another battle against time
What more can humanity endure?
And as this pandemic engulfs the world undaunted
No dollar bills did save the rich and no prayers shielded the poor
As the lonely guardian watches over his children in pain
He turns the other way and weeps.
The tears of the lonely and depressed,
Hunger burned homes and them, the underprivileged students
Their cries deafen the ears of men so loud
Too often living and learning appears so unbearable.
But till we see the light of morrow
And we exchange our hugs and hellos in the next morning sun
Let us endure this little pain a little more
Sure, you know I got your back.
