The bars are invisible,
Untied and unlocked
Still caged in the room full of thoughts.
The steps are free but with consequences,
Caged for the world around.
For some, it is a sky full of stars
Untied and unlocked
Caged in places with no walls.
Choices are not the same.
What to eat today? Doesn’t give the same meaning to everyone.
How will I die? Is still a question
Caged in a room full of starvation.
War with no weapons but,
Windows are wide open
Caged to see nature healing.
Miles to go before I sleep is no more same,
Social distanced from the loved ones
Caged for endurance.
The body can’t be touched, they said
The death no one would love to experience.
All the prayers and thoughts, but still longing to get that last hug.
Caged on the narrow box, so that any other person doesn’t have to lay here.
