That night in the dim moonlight,
as we walk by the empty roads,
hand in hand,
she whispers in my ears,
“Isn’t it a bit too cold outside?”
I nod my head, hold her tight and ah the way she smiles.
But now we’re home, lying in bed facing each other.
I run my hands through her hair for she does the same with mine.
When my eyes meet hers, she refuses to look elsewhere, only in my eyes, and I can feel the tension building in the air around me!
I can’t help but think of her for “she’s so beautiful god damnit” in my mind.
I knew I had to stop, so I let out a little laugh out and ask, “Is there something on my face?”
She takes a minute or two of silence and then with the prettiest smile she replies, “You are beautiful”.
I feel my heart beat faster than ever before for I know it is different.
I have never felt these butterflies in my stomach ever before.
She pulls me close, I close my eyes and her lips meet mine. “Oh no!” I scream and push her away.
“What were you trying to do?”. “But I love you” she says now, with tears in her eyes. “I love you too, but, THE SOCIETY, the society we live in has no rooms for love of this kind”, I replied. “Forget the society! This society has nothing to offer nor to take for it is our life and all I know is you and me, for all I know is how our love is real.
Nothing else matters to me except for you, our love, this moment, the night and the dim moonlight”. Closer than ever before, skin on skin, love was made for this love is real. It’s almost morning, she lights my cigarette while we lay next to each other, naked, hand in hand. I offer her a puff and say, “I love you, for love has no language, caste, shape, size or sex and it comes in all forms and for everyone”. She takes a puff and lets out a small laugh “I’m sleepy, girlfriend!” And once more, all it needs is a little courage, acceptance and all the love in the world to just be you because In the end, love is love and love always wins.
